For those of you that enjoy a good drama series like I do, check out “1883,” on Paramount. Originally on Paramount+, it stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Sam Elliott and tells the origin story of the Dutton family featured on “Yellowstone.” “1883” follows their 19th-century ancestors James and Margaret Dutton as they begin their travels from Texas to Montana. The story is the first of many prequels, which provides details how the Duttons came to own the land that would become the Yellowstone Ranch. If you have yet to see it, set aside sometime next weekend to watch it.

As we celebrate Father’s Day this Sunday, here’s some words to start off our weekend with: “My father used to say that it’s never too late to do anything you wanted to do. And he said, ‘You never know what you can accomplish until you try.’ ” – Michael Jordan

For those that enjoy superhero movies like I do, check out Shazam! Fury of the Gods on HBO. Starring Zachary Levi, Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu, it tells the story of Billy Batson along with his foster family and how they navigate between their teenage lives and being adult superheroes. When an angry trio of ancient gods arrives on Earth in search of the magic that was stolen from them long ago, Shazam and his allies go into battle to retain their superpowers, their lives, and perhaps the fate of the world. If you’re looking for something to watch this weekend, I think you’ll enjoy it.
