End of an Era

Best wishes to former Chicago Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo, who was traded to the New York Yankees yesterday.  Rizzo was a 3 time All Star and won 4 Gold Glove awards for his defensive work at first base.  Most of all, he will be remembered for being the leader in the clubhouse and a key contributor on the 2016 World Series championship team. Congratulations on a fine career with the Northside and best of luck with your new team.

Summer Games

As we approach the start of the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan this weekend, congratulations to Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine on being selected to the men’s basketball team for Team USA.  Zach will do a fine job in representing both the team and the Windy City.

Mid Season Honors

As we approach the middle of the baseball season, congratulations are in order to the newly selected All Stars, representing Chicago. From the Northside, Kris Bryant and Craig Kimbrel of the Cubs will be in Colorado. And from the Southside, Liam Hendriks, Carolos Rodon and Lance Lynn of the White Sox will be in Denver. Well deserved honors for each player.
