With the presidential primaries well underway, let me cast your attention to a collection of online programs, courtesy of PBS, that focus on the winners that get elected in November.  “The Presidents,” an American Experience series, takes a close look at some of the most prominent leaders from the 20th century, from Theodore Roosevelt, to FDR, JFK and more.  Each episode is 2 hours or more.  For those of you that enjoy history and politics, I suggest setting aside some time next weekend to watch.

Customer Service Success Story

From time to time, I like to recognize companies and individuals that deliver best in class customer service to their clients.  Today, my spotlight is on NFL running back Matt Forte. This past week, the Chicago Bears announced they were parting ways with Forte after 8 seasons together. During that time, Forte amassed 12,718 total yards from scrimmage, the most of any player in the league since 2008.  He ran for 8602 yards and 45 touchdowns, the second most in Bears history. He also set the NFL record for receptions by a running back, with 102 in 2014. For all those accomplishments, I congratulate Matt Forte on his accomplishments and wish him continued success in his future endeavors.

For you football fans, the ESPN “30 for 30” documentary series debuted it’s program on the 1985 World Champion Chicago Bears this past week and it was worth watching. For a national audience, it covered a variety of stories and situations that many may have never heard or read before. For many Chicagoans, it was less about learning something new, but a chance to relive an unbelievable year where the “Monsters of the Midway” dominated the NFL, as few teams have done before or since. With today being the 50th Super Bowl, I suggest you set aside some time to watch this show either before or after the game, as I’m confident you’ll find it as entertaining and I did.
