38 years ago this week, Bears Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton had gained an NFL record 275 yards on 40 carries in a win over the Minnesota Vikings, 10 to 7.  What was all the more astounding is that Payton accomplished this feat against one of the toughest defenses in the league in terrible weather conditions while suffering from the flu.

As you know, the rights and liberties many of us enjoy in the free world can come with a price.  As was the case in Paris, France recently, bad things can happen to good people.  When I’m faced with doubt, anxiety or just need to hear a positive message, I turn to one of my favorite public speakers, Les Brown.  One of his best videos is “Live Your Dreams,” which is also the title of a book he wrote.  Les shares his life experiences in a way that will inspire, motivate and put a smile on your face.  Next time you’re on YouTube, I recommend setting aside a few minutes of your day to watch and listen.

Customer Service Success Story – Repeat Business

Recently I stopped in The Autobarn Fiat of Evanston dealership for a basic service visit, without an appointment.  They took me in right away, served me a hot chocolate in their guest services lounge, provided a complimentary car wash and sent me on my way in less than 30 minutes.  It’s that kind of effort that encourages customers to return again and again.  If you’re looking at ways to develop referrals, this is a perfect example of how to do so.  After the previous dealership dropped the ball on my request, The Autobarn Fiat of Evanston is now my preferred auto service provider.  Congratulations and well done!
